The Northern Press is a private, online news publisher based in Northern Uganda.[1]

Established on March 10, 2021, it is owned by Oyet Broadcasting Services[2] and located at L’Oyet Media Technology Center,[3] Gulu, Uganda.

In Uganda's Print Media sector, The Northern Press has for two years been renowned for its comprehensive coverage of news and events in the Northern region of the country and beyond.[4]

With a significant online presence, it has an extensive readership both locally and internationally.

Founder[edit]

The Northern Press was founded by Oyet Francis Opwonya, a Ugandan News Anchor, Investigative Journalist and Software Engineer who has worked for vast media outlets across the country and currently working as production manager, technician, and news sub-editor at Voice of the Gospel 91.7 FM in Lira City.
