County in Ardabil, Iran
Parsabad County (Persian : شهرستان پارسآباد ) is in Ardabil province, Iran . Its capital is the city of Parsabad .[ 3]
In 2007, the village of Tazeh Kand-e Qadim was elevated to the status of a city[ 4] and later renamed Moghansar .[ 5] In 2012, villages were separated from Qeshlaq-e Shomali Rural District [ a] of the Central District in the formation of Eslamabad District , which was divided into the new Eslamabad and Shahrak Rural Districts. At the same time, the village of Eslamabad became a city.[ 6]
Aslan Duz District was separated from the county in the establishment of Aslan Duz County in 2019,[ 7] and the village of Owltan rose to city status in 2021.[ 8]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 164,576 in 34,456 households.[ 9] The following census in 2011 counted 173,182 people in 44,035 households.[ 10] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 177,601 in 50,083 households.[ 2]
