Polen Records is an independent music label based in Bogota, Colombia, created in 2006 by producer Felipe Álvarez and musician and anthropologist Lucas Guingue.[1] Polen Record's first release was Los Días Adelante (2006) by Bajo Tierra , followed that same year by Bomba Estéreo's debut EP, Vol.1, and Chocquibtown's Somos Pacífico.[2] In 2008 Polen released the Bomba Estéreo album Estalla, which included the international hit Fuego.[3]
Polen Records has played a key role in the development of the Colombian alternative music scene, contribution to the development of bands that lead the industry today; as well as pioneers from the latin underground such as Pernett, Systema Solar, Cero39, Mitú and Mucho Indio one of their most interesting releases.
From their first release Polen keeps bringing consistent talent with new bands like El Leopardo, Cabruêra, Savan, Rizomagic and Lucas Hill.
In 2013, they had an album nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards with Bomba Estéreo's album Elegancia Tropical (2012) as Best Alternative Music Album.[4]
