Pytomnyk (Ukrainian: Питомник) is a rural settlement in Kharkiv Raion of Kharkiv Oblast of eastern Ukraine, at about 21.5 kilometres (13.4 mi) north by east from the centre of Kharkiv city. It belongs to Derhachi urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[1]
The settlement came under attack by Russian forces in 2022, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[2][3][4]
"The occupying forces moved to the defense in order to slow down the pace of the offensive of our troops," it said. "The settlement of Pytomnyk ... was liberated."
In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy fired artillery in the areas of Chepil, Zolochiv, Ruska Lozova, Rubizhne, Khrestyshche, Pechenyhi, Kharkiv, Pytomnyk, Bazaliivka, Ruska Lozova and Prudyanka. Conducted an airstrike from a pair of Ka-52 helicopters near Mospanove. Continues to conduct aerial reconnaissance.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian ground assault towards Pytomnyk, 10km north of Kharkiv City.
