Rusko [ˈruskɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Strzegom, within Świdnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1]It lies approximately 9 km (6 mi) north-east of Strzegom, 16 km (10 mi) north of Świdnica, and 42 km (26 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.
When it was part of medieval Piast-ruled Poland, in 1193, the tithe from Rusko was granted to the Canons Regular Monastery in Wrocław.[2] The name of the village is of Polish origin and comes from word róża, which means "rose".[3]
