Sarah Falak (Urdu: سارہ فلک), née Sarah Zafar Khan (Urdu: سارہ ظفر خان) (born 14 July 1992), popularly known as Sarah Khan (Urdu: سارہ خان), is a Pakistani actress who appears in Urdu-language television series.[3] She made her acting debut with a supporting role in 2012 serial Badi Aapa and followed by other brief roles in several series.[4] Khan is best known for her portrayal as Miraal in the drama Sabaat.
She also played the role of Farisa in the romantic Alvida (2015)[4] and later on appeared as Saba in the mystery drama Mohabbat Aag Si (2015). She subsequently portrayed leading roles in the romantic drama Tumhare Hain, the black magic-based Nazr-e-Bad (both 2017), Belapur Ki Dayan (2018).[5][6][7][8]
Khan was born on 14 July 1992, in Medina, Saudi Arabia to a Lebanese mother and a Pakistani Pashtun father of Yusufzai tribe.[9] She has two sisters and one brother, including Noor Zafar Khan who is also an actress, Aisha Zafar Khan, and Hamza Zafar Khan.[10]
Khan made her acting debut as a supporting role in 2012, Badi Aapa aired on Hum TV, where she played the role of the daughter of the main characters. Next, she appeared in a telenovela serial Mirat-ul-Uroos which was broadcast on Geo TV in the same year. She played the featuring role of Humna alongside Mehwish Hayat, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ahsan Khan, Samina Ahmad, and Ayesha Khan.
Khan followed it with supporting roles in much successful television series. Her breakthrough came with a negative character of a selfish opportunist in 2015 in the romantic drama Alvida with Sanam Jung, and Imran Abbas Naqvi. The drama was aired on Hum TV and she also got nomination for this act. In the same year, she gave a wonderful performance in the drama Mohabbat Aag Si and got an award for best actor in a supporting role. She played the role of a brave housewife, Saba as a supporting actress along with Azfar Rehman. In 2014, she appeared in a soap series Bhool with Sanam Chaudhry, Behroze Sabzwari, and Fazila Qazi. She was recognized as one of the BBC's 100 women of 2014.[11]
In 2018, Khan played the lead Tasha in Belapur Ki Dayan. She was seen as the Dayan along with Adnan Siddiqui and Ammar Khan. Khan received praises for portraying Zohra in Raqs e Bismil.[12] Khan earned recognition and praises for playing an arrogant woman Miraal in Sabaat alongside Usman Mukhtar.[13][14] For her performance she won the PISA Award for Best Television Actress Popular.[15]
Khan played a psychology student Maha Qutub ud-Din in the Ramdan special Hum Tum opposite Junaid Khan in 2022.[16][17] She then played Anum in Wabaal alongside Talha Chahour.[18]
Khan married singer and songwriter, Falak Shabir in July 2020,[19] a few weeks after their engagement.[20][21] On 8 October 2021, Shabir announced the birth of their daughter, Alyana Falak.[22]
Khan has also appeared as a guest on various shows. In 2015, she played Saman in Maana Ka Gharana. She appeared in an episode of Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain: Part 2 (2017) and in an episode of Ustani Jee (2018). In 2018, she appeared as a guest in the second season of the talkshow, The After Moon Show.[23] Khan became the tenth most searched person on Google in Pakistan in 2020.[24] In 2022, Khan was placed in "Best Pakistani Actresses" list, for her performance in Hum Tum.[25] Khan was placed in Hello Pakistan's HOT100 list, in the "Trailblazers" categoryI, in the same year.[26]
