Rural District in Hormozgan, Iran
Shamil Rural District (Persian : دهستان شميل ) is in Shamil District of Bandar Abbas County , Hormozgan province, Iran .[ 3] Its capital is the village of Shamil .[ 4]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of Takht District ) was 22,280 in 4,949 households.[ 5] There were 24,154 inhabitants in 6,198 households at the following census of 2011.[ 6] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 24,268 in 6,924 households. The most populous of its 56 villages was Hasan Langi-ye Bala , with 1,943 people.[ 2]
After the census, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Shamil District.[ 3]
