The Siege of Menzelinsk was a 1682 battle between the Tsardom of Russia against the Kalmyk Khanate and Bashkir rebels.
The rebels established a connection with the Kalmyk khan Ayuka. In July 1682, 40000 Kalmyk detachments arrived in Bashkortostan.[1] The uprising resumed and the Bashkirs and Kalmyks besieged Menzelinsk.[2]
They came to Ufa county on the Sun River Kalmyk taisha Ayuka, da Zamsa,and with them there are 40,000 Kalmyks, Nogais, and mountain Cherkases.They want to go near Ufa and along the Zakamsky line.
On July 27, they approached Menzelinsk and besieged it.
