Shane Boose (born July 5, 2005), known professionally as Sombr, is an American singer-songwriter.[1] He released his debut single "Nothing Left to Say" in 2021. In 2023, he released his debut EP In Another Life, co-produced by Tony Berg, through SMB and Warner Records.[2][3] In 2025, he made his first appearances on several music charts with his singles "Back to Friends" and "Undressed", including entering the Billboard Hot 100 with the former at number 90.[4]
Boose was born on July 5, 2005,[5] in New York City, and raised on the Lower East Side. He attended LaGuardia High School as a vocal major and is currently based in Los Angeles, California.[6]
He began his music career with the release of his debut single "Nothing Left to Say" in October 2021.[7] In September 2023, Boose released his debut EP, In Another Life,[8] which was co-produced by Tony Berg.[2][3] His 2024 single "Back to Friends" became his first charting song, entering several music charts, including the United States,[9] Canada,[10] and the United Kingdom.[11] The single's music video, starring Boose and model Charlotte D'Alessio, was released on April 3, 2025.[12]
Boose's musical genres have been described as indie rock[13] and alternative pop.[14]
