TBO is a global travel distribution platform headquartered in India. [1][2][3][4]
TBO was founded in 2006 by Gaurav Bhatnagar and Ankush Nijhawan under the name Tek Travels Private Limited. The Company incorporated its first subsidiary Tek Travels DMCC in 2011. In March 2019, TBO acquired Island Hopper and Clickitbookit from Orange Tourism Solutions Private Limited.[5]
In May 2021, TBO Group acquired Gemini Tours & Travels, an India-based destination management company, to consolidate its position in the Indian outbound market, particularly Maldives.[6]
The Company's name was changed to TBO Tek Private Limited in October 2021. Subsequently, it was converted into a public company and its name was changed to TBO Tek Limited in November 2021.[7]
In March 2022, TBO acquired BookaBed AG, a B2B accommodation supplier to increase its presence in Ireland and the United Kingdom.[8] TBO made a seed investment in Hotelzify, a Bangalore-based early-stage startup in April 2023.[9] General Atlantic, an American growth equity firm bought a minority stake in TBO in October 2023.[10]
In December 2023, Tek Travels DMCC acquired the online business of Jumbo Tours Espana S.L.U.[11]
