Tinies Childcare is a British childcare company operating across the United Kingdom.[1] Tinies focuses on childcare recruitment operating 29 childcare and nanny agencies in the UK.[2]
Tinies specialises in the recruitment of nannies and nursery staff, and the provision of fixed and mobile crèches.[3] In October 2024, ownership of the company transferred to Claire Adams, a long-standing senior franchisee.[citation needed]
The company was founded in 1975, by Janet Trethewy Tinies as a nanny agency with 5 branches.[citation needed]
It was acquired by brothers Ben and Oliver Black in March 2000.[4] In August of that year they were joined by Amanda Coxen.[5]
In 2007 Tinies secured its first government Sure Start contract.[6] Tinies went on to manage the holiday playschemes for over 32 government departments.[citation needed]
Ben Black went on to found a web-based emergency childcare service, which went on to become the award-winning family friendly employee benefits company My Family Care (who also own Nannyshare.co.uk).[7][8]
In 2019, the company was acquired by US based childcare provider Bright Horizons.[9] The sale did not include Tinies five nurseries and mobile crèches.[citation needed]
In October 2024, ownership returned to senior long-standing franchisee Claire Adams, and Tinies now operates 29 branches across the UK under independent leadership.[citation needed]
