Torske (Ukrainian: Торське; Russian: Торское) is a village in Kramatorsk Raion (district) in Donetsk Oblast of eastern Ukraine, at about 112.3 kilometres (69.8 mi) north by east (NbE) of the centre of Donetsk city, at about 11.9 kilometres (7.4 mi) east by north (EbN) of Lyman, on the eastern border of Zarichne. It belongs to Lyman urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.
The settlement came under attack by Russian forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, was regained by Ukrainian forces by the beginning of October,[2] lost again about a week later,[3] and was attacked on several occasions by Russian forces in December the same year.[4][5][6]
Russian milbloggers also claimed to witness Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage groups in Torske and Yampil, 14km northeast and 13km southeast of Lyman, respectively.
Russian milbloggers claimed on October 11 that Russian forces conducted counteroffensive operations east of Lyman and recaptured Terny, Torske, Novosadove, Makiivka, and Nevske, although ISW cannot independently verify any of these claims.
In the Lyman direction, Ploschanka, Nevske, Yampolivka, Torske, and Dibrova of the Luhansk region were hit by fire.
