"Toxic" is a song by Korean-American singer BoyWithUke, originally self-released as a single on October 29, 2021. BoyWithUke wrote and produced the song himself. It went viral on TikTok[1] and received over 500 million streams worldwide.[2]
The song features BoyWithUke singing about how "all [his] friends are toxic", as they are "so rude and always negative" and although he thinks he may be "better off" by himself, he feels "kinda empty without somebody else". Unlike some of his prior songs that had been inspired by ideas from TikTok comments, BoyWithUke wrote it "because it was an important thing in [his] life at the time". As with all of his songs, it was produced on his iPad using GarageBand.[1]
