Vasa is a surname particularly in Jains from Sorath Vishasrimali Jain community mostly hailing originally from Patanvav and Vanthali village/town. Now they have spread to various towns and cities of India, USA and UK. They are many members now at Mumbai, Kolkatta, Surat, Ahamedabad, Bay Area- California, New York, London.

There are some people with surname "Vasha" in Amreli and Bhavnagar district of Saurashtra and they are Jains.

Other people with Vasa surname are Patels - Hindus  from North Gujarat area and near Ahamedabad city.
