World (Korean: 월드), was a South Korean co-ed group formed by MIJIEUM Record. They are composed of members Shin Myungho, Choi Seon, Choi Jaeeun, Sung Jaehyuk, and Han Jungeun. The group debuted in April 1995, with their album On 5ive.

Debut[edit]

World debuted in April 1995 with their album "On 5ive', and began promotions for the title track Mothers' Feeling, or Mothers' Premonition (Korean: 엄마들의 예감) throughout the summer in the same year. The group was formed by Sobangcha members Jeong Wongwan and Kim Taehyung.^[1]

Their group name, 'World', was given in the sense of digesting and disseminating various music from around with world with Korean Music.^[1]

Composed by members Choi Jaeeun and Shin Myungho, the title and promotional track 'Mothers' Feeling' sampled Entrance of the Gladiators by Julius Fučík.^[2]

The choreography and musical style of Mothers' Feeling incorporated the style of Polka Rhythm.^[1]

The song is about an adolescent girl's feelings of being caught on a date without her mother knowing.^[1]

The album incorporates many genres throughout its tracks, such as pop, dance pop, europop, house, ballad, and electronic.^[3][4]
