Xenia Böttcher is a German journalist.
Xenia Böttcher was born in Frankfurt am Main; her mother has a Spanish, her fahther a German decent. She studied political science at University of Mainz. Böttcher did an intern in the media branch and reported for local media from the German states of Hesse and Rhinland Platina. Later she worked as SWR reporte for the News room of German Public Broadcaster ARD aktuell.[1] She was five years correspondent at ARD Mexico studio, there she reported from Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the north of South America. Since June 2023 she is reporting for ARD from Studio Rio de Janeiro.[2]
In 2021 Böttcher was nominated for the Grimme Award for her "immersive COVID19 reporting from Mexico and various Latin and Central American countries."[3]
