Jacqueline Lee Kennedy Onassis (née Bouvier; 28 Julie 1929 – 19 Mei 1994) was die Eerste Dame van die Verenigde State van Amerika gedurende die presidentskap van haar eggenoot, John F. Kennedy, vanaf Januarie 1961 tot sy moord in November 1963.

Bouvier is in Southampton, New York gebore. Haar pa was 'n aandelemakelaar op die Wall Street-beurs, John Vernou Bouvier III, en haar ma, Janet Lee Bouvier. In 1951 het sy gegradueer met 'n BA in Franse letterkunde aan die George Washington Universiteit en het vir die Washington Times-Herald as 'n ondersoekende fotograaf gewerk.[1]

In 1952 het Bouvier kongreslid John F. Kennedy by 'n dinee in Washington ontmoet. Na sy verkiesing tot die Senaat in 1952, is die egpaar getroud op 12 September 1953 in Newport, Rhode Island. Hulle het vier kinders, van wie twee gesterf het in hul kinderjare. Na haar man se verkiesing as president in 1960, was Jacqueline Kennedy bekend vir haar hoogs-gepubliseerde opknapping van die Withuis met die klem op kuns en kultuur, sowel as vir haar styl en elegansie.[2][3] Op slegs 31-jarige ouderdom toe haar man ingehuldig is, was sy die jongste Eerste Dame sedert Frances Cleveland. Op 22 November 1963 was Jacqueline Kennedy saam met die president in 'n opelugmotorkade in Dallas, Texas toe hy vermoor is. Na afloop van sy begrafnis het sy en haar kinders hulle grootliks uit die openbare lewe onttrek. In 1968 is sy getroud met die Griekse skeepsmagnaat Aristoteles Onassis. Na Aristoteles se dood in 1975 het sy 'n loopbaan gevolg as uitgewer en redakteur in New York Stad. Sy sterf op 19 Mei 1994 in die ouderdom van 64 jaar.

Gedurende haar leeftyd is Jacqueline Kennedy as 'n internasionale mode-ikoon beskou.[5] Haar beroemde pienk Chanel-pakkie en 'n gepaardgaande kussingshoed het 'n simbool geword van haar man se sluipmoord. Selfs na haar dood is sy in 1999 as een van die gewildste en herkenbare Eerste Dames van die 20ste eeu gehuldig.[6]
