The Battle of the Five Armies

Fought in the year 2941 of the Third Age in the city of Dale, this battle was the climax of the book The Hobbit written by J.R.R. Tolkien. In one side were the Dwarves, Elves, and Humans, and in the other the Goblins and Wild Wolves. The Leaders of these armies were Bard the Bowman as the leader of the Men, Thranduil, king of the Elves, Dain Ironfoot as the leader of the Dwarves, and Bolg, son of Azog, leading the army of the Goblins. Other famous people who fought in this battle were Gandalf the Grey, Thorin Oakenshield, Bilbo Baggins, Beorn the Skin-Changer, Gwaihir, Lord of the Eagles, and Thorin's Company.

Developement of the Battle:

Initially, the battle was going to be Elves and Humans against the Dwarves, but secretly, an army of Goblins and Wargs was marching to Erebor to attack the Dwarves in revenge for the death of the Great Goblin in the hands of Gandalf the Grey and Thorin's Company in the Misty Mountains. After learning of this new threat, the three armies decided to cooperate and work together. After a good start, the three allied armies began to lose advantage, and even when Thorin Oakenshield, his company, and The Lord of the Eagles showed up to fight, they were still outnumbered. That didn't change until Beorn the Skin-Changer arrived in the form of a bear to fight with the dwarves. After this, most of the battle is unknown, except that approximately three parts of the Goblin army perished that day, and the survivors escaped. In this battle also died Thorin Oakenshield and his two nephews, Fili and Kili, who perished defending him.
After the end of this battle, Dain Ironfoot became the king of Erebor, replacing his late cousin Thorin, and Bard the Bowman rebuilt the city of Dale and became its king.
