YouTube Music是由Google的子公司YouTube開發的音乐流媒体服务；该平台界面设计支持用户同步探索基于 YouTube 的音乐流派、歌单及推荐内容，无缝切换音频与音乐视频体验。2020 年 12 月 1 日，YouTube 音乐正式取代Google Play 音乐，成为谷歌旗下音乐流媒体的核心品牌。2023 年 4 月，在Google 播客关闭前夕，YouTube 音乐宣布拓展服务范围，新增播客内容支持[1]。

Youtube Music該服務還提供高級訂閱服务，向付费订阅者提供多项权益，包括无广告播放、后台音频播放和歌曲离线下载选项。这些权益还与 YouTube Premium 订阅捆绑，并向其用户开放。

2018 年 5 月 17 日，YouTube 宣布推出YouTube 音乐服务新版本，包括：网页版桌面播放器、重新设计的移动应用、基于多维度的动态推荐，以及运用谷歌人工智能技术实现歌词或描述搜歌。此外，YouTube 音乐成为独立订阅服务（定位为更直接对标 Apple Music 和 Spotify 的竞品），针对 YouTube 音乐内容提供无广告、后台播放或纯音频模式、离线下载权益。该服务权益继续作为 YouTube Premium 现有服务的一部分，并向 Google Play 音乐全接入订阅用户开放[4]。

2019 年 4 月 18 日，YouTube 音乐开始支持Google Assistant 智能音箱（含 Google Nest 系列）

2019 年 9 月 28 日，Google宣佈YouTube Music將預先安装在所有Android 10新機上[5]。

2019 年 11 月 6 日，Google宣佈YouTube Music於台灣及香港上線。

2024 年 7 月，YouTube 音乐随特斯拉 2024.26 版软件更新正式上车[6]。

功能

YouTube 音乐内容覆盖主流艺人的大量作品，并延伸至平台上所有标注为音乐类的视频。

2019 年 9 月，YouTube 音乐在新安卓设备预装的核心 Google 移动服务套件中取代 Google Play 音乐[7][8]。2020 年 5 月更新支持导入 Google Play 音乐内容（含购买的音乐、歌单、云曲库及推荐）[9]。但该服务仍存在功能退步：无在线音乐商店（无法购买歌曲），且需订阅 YouTube Music Premium 才能将云曲库内容投射至 Google Nest 智能音箱。

2020 年 5 月，YouTube 音乐新增“预保存”功能 ，支持用户提前收藏即将发布的音乐作品[10]。

2023 年 2 月，YouTube 音乐推出Radio Builder—— 一项免费且支持跨设备访问的网络服务，覆盖付费订阅用户及持有 iOS/Android 设备的免费用户[11][12][13]。该功能允许用户创建自定义电台：最多勾选 30 位艺术家，并可选择仅播放选中歌手的作品或混入同类音乐人的歌曲。

2023 年 4 月，YouTube 音乐上线播客功能，初期仅面向美国用户开放，计划后续向全球推广[1]。2024 年 6 月，Google Podcasts全球停运，由 YouTube 音乐全面承接[14][15]。

YouTube Music 订阅体系

非付费用户在适用情况下会播放歌曲的音乐视频版本。Youtube Premium用户默认播放专辑正式音轨，除非用户主动搜索音乐视频版本。YouTube Music Premium会员及 YouTube Premium会员可切换至仅音频模式，支持应用后台运行时的持续播放；免费版因需展示视频广告，不提供含后台播放的纯音频模式[3]。

免费版音频质量支持最高128 kbit/s的 AAC 和 OPUS 格式，而256 kbit/s AAC仅向高级版用户开放。2024 年 7 月，YouTube 为高级版用户新增256 kbit/s OPUS高品质选项[16]。

YouTube 音乐高级会员及 YouTube 高级会员提供个人版与家庭版两种套餐。家庭版支持同一家庭内最多 6 名成员共享权益。符合条件的学生可享个人版专属折扣。
