Abraham Olivier Samson is head of the "Drug Discovery Lab" and professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Bar Ilan University.[1]
He focuses on the development of bioinformatics and drug discovery[2]. Samson received his bachelor's degree in medical chemistry from Bar-Ilan University, his master's degree and doctorate in structural biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science|Weizmann Institute. He has received honors for his work[3] and has published over 50 scientific articles as well as several books, and book chapters.[4][5] Samson joined the Faculty of Medicine in 2011 as one of the founding researchers,[6][7] after spending his postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine, under the direction of Nobel Laureate, Prof. Michael Levitt.[8]. Samson develops potential drug therapies against Alzheimer's disease, and has shown promising candidates, such as arginine[10], and Norvaline[11].
Abraham Samson was president of the Hazvi Israel Synagogue, Jerusalem. In addition, he curates liturgical tunes on the YouTube channel, Machsike Hadas Tunes & Melodies of the community, Machzike Hadas[12].
