Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) is a nonprofit organisation in the United States that offers national accreditation to private post-secondary educational institutions. This organisation falls within the guidelines of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Being an impartial accreditation organisation, it has the support of the United States Department of Education (USDOE). It began operations in 1965 and now has its headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.
The U.S. Department of Education defines the scope of ACCSC recognition as the accreditation of private postsecondary institutions offering non-degree programmes or associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees in programmes "primarily organised to prepare students for occupational, trade, and technical careers, and institutions that offer programmes via distance education."
The National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity granted the accrediting agency a renewal for the subsequent period of three years in 2021. (NACIQI).
According to the ACCSC's website, the organisation serves as "the institutional accrediting body for more than 650 post-secondary, trade, and technical institutions that together educate more than 150,000 students."
According to NACIQI's findings, the ACCSC "now supervises 370 institutions that receive a total of $2.76 billion each year in Title IV payments."
