Akodiya is a small village of 979 hectares in Chaksu Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Akodiya depends on Chaksu, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 60.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Akodiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Akodiya's pin code is 303901[4], and village code is 01637800. The area of Akodiya is segregated as 180.59 hectares irrigated area, 367.56 hectares unirrigated, the 147.4 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 283.78 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Akodiya has One post office (Akodiya B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Akodiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Akodiya is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1646 and has total administration over 250 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Akodiya has 215 children, 109 boys and 106 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 118 (7.17%) males constitute 62 (3.77%) of the population and females 56 (3.40%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 69 (4.19%) males constitute 35 (2.13%) of the population and females 34 (2.07%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 821 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 405 male, 416 female with 756 (92.08%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 387 males and 369 females. 242 males and 337 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 8 male and 9 female agricultural labor. 65 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Chaksu and Jaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
