Akodiya is a small village of 364 hectares in Khanpur Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Akodiya depends on Sangod, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Akodiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Akodiya's pin code is 326038[4], and village code is 03977900. The area of Akodiya is segregated as 307.81 hectares irrigated area, 29.68 hectares unirrigated, remaining 26.82 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Akodiya has One post office (Akodiya B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Akodiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Akodiya is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1651 and has total administration over 300 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Akodiya has 214 children, 119 boys and 95 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 279 (16.90%) males constitute 150 (9.09%) of the population and females 129 (7.81%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 16 (0.97%) males constitute 8 (0.48%) of the population and females 8 (0.48%).

The workforce is 445 male, 403 female with 611 (72.05%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 402 males and 209 females. 278 males and 181 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 65 male and 22 female agricultural labor. 237 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sangod and Jhalawar to sell earthen pot and make their living.
