Akoli is a small village of 2868 hectares in Jalor Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Akoli depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 1205.44% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Akoli is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Akoli's pin code is 343025[4], and village code is 02297200. The area of Akoli is segregated as 1414.04 hectares irrigated area, 300.8 hectares unirrigated, the 438.35 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 714.65 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Akoli has One post office (Bagra S.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Akoli has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Akoli is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 5550 and has total administration over 986 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Akoli has 937 children, 476 boys and 461 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 827 (14.90%) males constitute 406 (7.32%) of the population and females 421 (7.59%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 804 (14.49%) males constitute 405 (7.30%) of the population and females 399 (7.19%).

The workforce is 1536 male, 918 female with 1927 (78.52%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1413 males and 514 females. 433 males and 89 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 256 male and 147 female agricultural labor. 527 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
