Alorna is a small village of 2185 hectares in Pernem Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Alorna depends on PERNEM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 1.90% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Alorna is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Alorna's pin code is 403503[5], and village code is 00001600. The area of Alorna is segregated as 17.9 hectares irrigated area, 906.13 hectares unirrigated, the 724.5 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 140.61 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Alorna is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 2651 and has total administration over 600 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
As per the census 2011 report, 2103 people are literate in Alorna out of which 1137 are males and 966 are females.

According to a census 2011 report, 1069 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 738 male, 331 female with 745 (69.69%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 584 males and 161 females. 112 males and 37 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 29 male and 19 female agricultural labor. 324 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pernem and North Goa to sell country liquor and make their living.
