Amberem is a small village of 204 hectares in Pernem Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Amberem depends on PERNEM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Amberem is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Amberem's pin code is 403512[5], and village code is 00001000. The area of Amberem is segregated as 5.36 hectares irrigated area, 86.22 hectares unirrigated, the 43.04 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 69.45 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PERNEM and North Goa to sell country liquor and make their living.
