Amina Films is an Indian film production and trans-media company based out of Chandigarh, India.[1] Founded by Ameen Khan and Mahi Bawa. Amina Films is known for bringing forth new wave cinema in the Punjabi Film Industry and Bollywood Industry.[2]
Amina films is the first-ever production house making Punjabi horror thriller and science fiction films in the state. The company’s debut Punjab's first horror thriller movie MOI directed by the CEO of Amina Films, Mahi Bawa, will be released across OTT platforms in July 2022.[3]
Amina Films was incorporated on 25 May 2021 in Sangrur and now has its head office in Chandigarh, Punjab, India. The company was founded by Mahi Bawa and Ameen Khan with the aim to revolutionize the Punjabi Film Industry, which till now has been known for producing romantic, comedy, and tragic pictures. With the launch of Amina Films, the founders aimed to not only give opportunities to the budding artists but also focus on producing horror and thriller films - moving away from the set path and creating a new legacy.[4]
Amina Films’ debut full-length project is all set to be released in July 2022. This film is directed by Mahi Bawa and stars Santosh Malhotra, Jagmeet Kaur, Naina, Safar, Swaran Kaur Billo, Raja Sian, and Tarun Sheetal.[5]
Amina Films, led by Ameen Khan and Mahi Bawa, will work on other projects in the next years that are based on original concepts, current cinema subjects, and new trends, as well as encouraging newer and younger artists to partake in the films. Amina Films also work on Bollywood projects.[6]
