Babtara is a small village of 6773 hectares in Sayla Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Babtara depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Babtara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Babtara's pin code is 343022[4], and village code is 02273400. The area of Babtara is segregated as 2813 hectares irrigated area, 3429 hectares unirrigated, the 280 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 233.39 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Babtara has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Babtara has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Babtara is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 8051 and has total administration over 1284 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Babtara has 1750 children, 912 boys and 838 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1187 (14.74%) males constitute 634 (7.87%) of the population and females 553 (6.87%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 283 (3.52%) males constitute 152 (1.89%) of the population and females 131 (1.63%).

The workforce is 2172 male, 1891 female with 2517 (61.95%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1703 males and 814 females. 1421 males and 723 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 46 male and 30 female agricultural labor. 1546 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell furniture and make their living.
