Bada Bag is a small village of 1918 hectares in Jaisalmer Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bada Bag depends on JAISALMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Bada Bag is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Bada Bag's pin code is 345001[4], and village code is 02036800. The area of Bada Bag is segregated as 9.31 hectares irrigated area, 35.81 hectares unirrigated, the 68.61 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1804.22 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Bada Bag has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Bada Bag has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Bada Bag is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1333 and has total administration over 223 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Bada Bag has 189 children, 106 boys and 83 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 56 (4.20%) males constitute 39 (2.93%) of the population and females 17 (1.28%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 217 (16.28%) males constitute 124 (9.30%) of the population and females 93 (6.98%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaisalmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
