Bagseen is a small village of 1419 hectares in Sheoganj Tehsil in Sirohi district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bagseen depends on SHEOGANJ, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Bagseen is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Bagseen's pin code is 307043[4], and village code is 02348300. The area of Bagseen is segregated as 404 hectares irrigated area, 370 hectares unirrigated, the 407 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 200 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Bagseen has One post office (Bagseen B.O) and Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Bagseen has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Bagseen is a census village in the district of Sirohi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1557 and has total administration over 3057 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Bagseen has 253 children, 195 boys and 604 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 314 (20.17%) males constitute 290 (18.63%) of the population and females 324 (20.81%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 179 (11.50%) males constitute 145 (9.31%) of the population and females 1337 (85.87%).

The workforce is 285 male, 889 female with 763 (96.46%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 126 males and 266 females. 8 males and 195 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 46 male and 34 female agricultural labor. 28 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SHEOGANJ and Sirohi to sell earthen pots and make their living.
