Bahter is a small village of 1268 hectares in Malarna Doongar Tehsil in Sawai Madhopur district, also known for Ranthambore National Park in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bahter depends on SAWAI MADHOPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Bahter is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Bahter's pin code is 322028[4], and village code is 01288500. The area of Bahter is segregated as 978.24 hectares irrigated area, 22 hectares unirrigated, the 131 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 111 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Bahter has One post office (Behted B.O) and Twenty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Bahter has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Bahter is a census village in the district of Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4538 and has total administration over 911 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 1113 (24.53%) males constitute 592 (13.05%) of the population and females 521 (11.48%).

The workforce is 1056 male, 67 female with 1062 (94.57%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1013 males and 49 females. 416 males and 16 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 214 male and 9 female agricultural labor. 61 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sawai Madhopur to sell ghee and make their living.
