Bahter is a small village of 1268 hectares in Malarna Doongar Tehsil in Sawai Madhopur district, also known for Ranthambore National Park in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bahter depends on SAWAI MADHOPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Bahter is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Bahter's pin code is 322028[4], and village code is 01288500. The area of Bahter is segregated as 978.24 hectares irrigated area, 22 hectares unirrigated, the 131 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 111 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sawai Madhopur to sell ghee and make their living.
