Balaran is a small village of 1612 hectares in Lachhmangarh Tehsil in Sikar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Balaran depends on Lachhmangarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 149.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Balaran is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Balaran's pin code is 332401[4], and village code is 01672800. The area of Balaran is segregated as 149 hectares irrigated area, 1033 hectares unirrigated, the 168 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 80 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Balaran has One post office (Balaran S.O) and Eighteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Balaran has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Balaran is a census village in the district of Sikar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 6255 and has total administration over 1079 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 959 (15.33%) males constitute 480 (7.67%) of the population and females 479 (7.66%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2239 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1514 male, 725 female with 1686 (75.3%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1166 males and 520 females. 381 males and 294 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 152 male and 62 female agricultural labor. 553 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Lachhmangarh and Sikar to sell ghee and make their living.
