Balera is a small village of 944 hectares in Sujangarh Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Balera depends on SUJANGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 4.40% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Balera is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Balera's pin code is 331503[4], and village code is 00657400. The area of Balera is segregated as 4.4 hectares irrigated area, 492.98 hectares unirrigated, the 220.99 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 37.68 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Balera has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Balera is a census village in the district of Churu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1701 and has total administration over 279 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Balera has 315 children, 161 boys and 154 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 442 (25.98%) males constitute 228 (13.40%) of the population and females 214 (12.58%).

The workforce is 438 male, 441 female with 329 (37.43%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 315 males and 14 females. 206 males and 5 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 25 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 550 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SUJANGARH and Churu to sell ghee and make their living.
