Barala is a small village of 267 hectares in Bassi Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barala depends on Jaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 95.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Barala is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barala's pin code is 303903[4], and village code is 01612400. The area of Barala is segregated as 95 hectares irrigated area, 93.47 hectares unirrigated, the 20.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 58.76 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Barala has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Barala is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 848 and has total administration over 141 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Barala has 114 children, 59 boys and 55 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 198 (23.35%) males constitute 101 (11.91%) of the population and females 97 (11.44%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 15 (1.77%) males constitute 7 (0.83%) of the population and females 8 (0.94%).

The workforce is 206 male, 47 female with 221 (87.35%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 205 males and 16 females. 103 males and 3 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 10 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 32 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaipur and Jaipur to sell wood furniture and make their living.
