Barjal is a small village of 1264 hectares in Amet Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barjal depends on DEOGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Barjal is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barjal's pin code is 313331[4], and village code is 02967500. The area of Barjal is segregated as 110 hectares irrigated area, 51 hectares unirrigated, the 445 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 658 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Barjal has One post office (Barjal B.O) and One public telephone. Barjal has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Barjal is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3135 and has total administration over 683 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Barjal has 570 children, 297 boys and 273 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 206 (6.57%) males constitute 105 (3.35%) of the population and females 101 (3.22%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 22 (0.70%) males constitute 10 (0.32%) of the population and females 12 (0.38%).

The workforce is 774 male, 643 female with 644 (45.45%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 477 males and 167 females. 246 males and 107 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 11 male and 15 female agricultural labor. 773 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of DEOGARH and Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
