Barna is a small village of 1207 hectares in Kishangarh Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barna depends on Kishangarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 78.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Barna is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barna's pin code is 305801[4], and village code is 02493000. The area of Barna is segregated as 172 hectares irrigated area, 470 hectares unirrigated, the 326 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 239 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Barna has One post office (Madanganj Kishangarh H.O) and Forty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Barna has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Barna is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3424 and has total administration over 641 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Barna has 542 children, 273 boys and 269 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1477 (43.14%) males constitute 743 (21.70%) of the population and females 734 (21.44%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 12 (0.35%) males constitute 4 (0.12%) of the population and females 8 (0.23%).

The workforce is 902 male, 586 female with 1171 (78.7%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 827 males and 344 females. 430 males and 269 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 34 male and 39 female agricultural labor. 317 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kishangarh and Ajmer to sell earthen pot and make their living.
