Barnau is a small village of 1953 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barnau depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Barnau is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barnau's pin code is 342309[4], and village code is 01973400. The area of Barnau is segregated as 22 hectares irrigated area, 1853.44 hectares unirrigated, the 30 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 48 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Barnau is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2168 and has total administration over 327 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
