Barwara is a small village of 272 hectares in Viratnagar Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Barwara depends on Viratnagar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 69.70% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Barwara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Barwara's pin code is 303003[4], and village code is 01467000. The area of Barwara is segregated as 69.7 hectares irrigated area, 76.26 hectares unirrigated, the 32.53 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 38.96 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Barwara has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Barwara is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1013 and has total administration over 186 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Barwara has 156 children, 85 boys and 71 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 18 (1.78%) males constitute 9 (0.89%) of the population and females 9 (0.89%).

The workforce is 244 male, 190 female with 326 (75.12%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 225 males and 101 females. 115 males and 68 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 23 female agricultural labor. 108 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Viratnagar and Jaipur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
