Basai is a small village of 1066 hectares in Tijara Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Basai depends on BEHROR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Basai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Basai's pin code is 301707[4], and village code is 00762700. The area of Basai is segregated as 516.01 hectares irrigated area, 171.99 hectares unirrigated, the 54 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 324 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Basai has One post office (Tapukara S.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Basai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Basai is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3076 and has total administration over 544 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Basai has 435 children, 246 boys and 189 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 485 (15.77%) males constitute 246 (8.0%) of the population and females 239 (7.77%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 395 (12.84%) males constitute 211 (6.86%) of the population and females 184 (5.98%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1271 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 808 male, 463 female with 1160 (91.27%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 742 males and 418 females. 377 males and 300 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 178 male and 100 female agricultural labor. 111 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BEHROR and Alwar to sell earthen pot and make their living.
