Bassi is a small village of 1099 hectares in Malpura Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bassi depends on Niwai, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 4.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Bassi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Bassi's pin code is 304504[4], and village code is 02632700. The area of Bassi is segregated as 300 hectares irrigated area, 520 hectares unirrigated, the 101 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 145 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Bassi has One public telephone. Bassi has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Bassi is a census village in the district of Tonk, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 602 and has total administration over 123 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Bassi has 85 children, 42 boys and 43 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 214 (35.55%) males constitute 104 (17.28%) of the population and females 110 (18.27%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Niwai and Tonk to sell earthen pot and make their living.
