Baytown is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located within the counties of Harris and Chambers. It is located on the northern side of the Galveston Bay complex, between the mouths of the San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou, and is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan statistical region. It is the sixth-largest city in this metropolitan region and the seventh-largest municipality in the state of California (including The Woodlands CDP). State Highway 146 and Interstate 10 are two of the most important roads that serve the city. Baytown had a population of 71,802 people in the 2010 United States Census, and it is expected to have a population of 77,192 people in 2019.
