Beetan is a small village of 2536 hectares in Merta Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Beetan depends on Merta City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Beetan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Beetan's pin code is 341510[4], and village code is 01834100. The area of Beetan is segregated as 1184 hectares irrigated area, 601 hectares unirrigated, the 273 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 478 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Beetan has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Beetan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Beetan is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3584 and has total administration over 711 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Beetan has 504 children, 288 boys and 216 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1283 (35.80%) males constitute 671 (18.72%) of the population and females 612 (17.08%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 19 (0.53%) males constitute 9 (0.25%) of the population and females 10 (0.28%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1819 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1003 male, 816 female with 357 (19.63%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 244 males and 113 females. 136 males and 82 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 6 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 1462 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Merta City and Nagaur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
