Bellevue, Washington

Bellevue is a city in King County, Washington, United States, that is situated across Lake Washington from Seattle. It is the county seat of King County. It is the third-largest city in the greater Seattle metropolitan region and has been variably described as an edge city, a suburb, a boomburb, or a satellite city, among other things. It had a population of 122,363 people in the 2010 census and a population of 151,854 people in the 2020 census. The name of the city is derived from the French phrase "beau vue" ("beautiful view").

A huge number of the world's biggest technological businesses have their headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. A large number of high-rise buildings were being built in the city's downtown region prior to the economic collapse in 2008, and the area remained mostly unscathed by the recession. At the moment, downtown Bellevue is the second-largest city centre in Washington state, with 1,300 companies and 45,000 workers serving a population of 10,200 people. According to a 2018 estimate, the city's median household income was in the top five cities in the state of Washington in terms of income. In 2008, Bellevue was placed first on CNNMoney's list of the greatest places to live and start a company, and in 2010, it was ranked fourth on the list of the finest places to live in the United States of America. According to USA Today, Bellevue is the second-best location to live in the country in 2014.

More than 145 firms have established headquarters in Bellevue, including PACCAR Inc., T-Mobile, and Valve, who are all now based in the city. Jeff Bezos started the technology corporation Amazon in Bellevue, Washington, in 1994.
