Bharatiya Telecom Employees Union (translation: भारतीय दूरसंचार कर्मचारी संघ) is affiliated (industrial unionism wing of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh working employees trade union organization in state-owned Telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in the Public Sector Units in India. The BMS founded its union BTEF in the year 1978. After formation of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited [1] Bharatiya Telecom Employees Federation renamed it as BTEU in the year 2007.
BMS elected Shri SVS Subramanyam as first All India General Secretary for BTEU BSNL. The Union itself claims to have more than 5000 thousand members [2]after 8th Union membership verification in BSNL across India. According to provisional statistics from the Ministry of Labour, the BMS had a membership of 6,215,797 in 2002.[3]
