Bhavi is a small village of 6422 hectares in Bilara Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bhavi depends on Bilara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 15.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Bhavi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Bhavi's pin code is 342605[4], and village code is 02011000. The area of Bhavi is segregated as 329 hectares irrigated area, 5279.38 hectares unirrigated, the 289.32 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 524 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Bhavi has One post office (Bhavi S.O) and One Hundred Forty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Bhavi has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Bhavi is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 8099 and has total administration over 1635 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Bhavi has 1017 children, 554 boys and 463 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1978 (24.42%) males constitute 1018 (12.57%) of the population and females 960 (11.85%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 19 (0.23%) males constitute 7 (0.09%) of the population and females 12 (0.15%).

According to a census 2011 report, 3877 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 2156 male, 1721 female with 2786 (71.86%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1729 males and 1057 females. 1080 males and 654 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 162 male and 285 female agricultural labor. 1091 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bilara and Jodhpur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
