Borta is a small village of 2303 hectares in Bhinmal Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Borta depends on BHINMAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Borta is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Borta's pin code is 343029[4], and village code is 02298900. The area of Borta is segregated as 69 hectares irrigated area, 1236 hectares unirrigated, the 216 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 574 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Borta has One post office (Borta B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Borta has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Borta is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3593 and has total administration over 670 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Borta has 647 children, 331 boys and 316 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1129 (31.42%) males constitute 579 (16.11%) of the population and females 550 (15.31%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 551 (15.34%) males constitute 295 (8.21%) of the population and females 256 (7.12%).

The workforce is 1043 male, 1095 female with 1245 (58.23%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 792 males and 453 females. 483 males and 280 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 75 male and 138 female agricultural labor. 893 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BHINMAL and Jalor to sell grenite stone and make their living.
