History[edit]

Bought By Many was founded by Steven Mendel and Guy Farley in 2012. It initially created groups for people with specific insurance needs. Consumers would join the groups and Bought By Many would negotiate better prices for them with insurers.[1]

In 2017 it launched its own pet insurance policies in the UK that cover cats and dogs.[2] Its policies were based on feedback from pet owners and offered features that were new to the market, such as cover for pre-existing conditions.[3]

The business received £78.4m in Series C funding in 2020.[4][5]

It launched its cat and dog insurance products in Sweden in 2019[6]. Its Sweden branch rebranded as ManyPets in 2020.[7]

Services[edit]

Bought By Many pet insurance covers the cost of vet treatment for accidents and illnesses suffered by cats and dogs. [8]

Along with standard pet insurance policies, it provides cover that differs from other providers, including a policy that covers pre-existing conditions and a policy that pays back part of the premium if the policyholder does not need to claim in a policy year. [9]
