Braden "Brady" McDonough, at the age of 15 years and 137 days, became the youngest athlete in history to win a Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Regional event. This occurred at the PBA Copperfield Southwest Challenge in Houston on April 9, 2023.[1] However, as McDonough was not a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) at that time, his victory did not count as an official PBA Regional title.[2] Despite this, the win is notable in the bowling community, and McDonough received a $2,500 scholarship as part of his prize.[3]
Apart from this accomplishment, McDonough has a history of success in junior bowling. He is a two-time PBA Jr. Regional Champion and a four-time SYC Champion. His earlier achievements include being a 2019 U12 Boys Junior Gold Finalist and a two-time U12 Boys Texas Pepsi Champion.[4] Braden is also a member of Storm Bowling's Team Evolution, which is Storm's national staff program for youth bowlers.[5]
