    History[edit]

    Bridgit was founded in 2012 by Mallorie Brodie and Lauren Lake, two University of Western Ontario graduates who were frustrated with the lack of technology solutions available to the construction industry. The founders set out to create a software platform that would help construction companies manage their workforce more effectively.[4]

    Bridgit focused on developing a tool to simplify the punch list process, which is the process of identifying and addressing construction defects. The company's first product, Closeout, was launched in 2014 and quickly gained traction among industry professionals.[5]

    In 2019, Bridgit shifted its focus to workforce management, launching Bridgit Bench, a cloud-based software platform that helps construction companies optimize their workforce planning and resource allocation. The platform provides real-time updates, project visibility, and forecasting capabilities that help companies make data-driven decisions.[6]

    Since its launch, Bridgit Bench has gained widespread adoption among top ENR general contractors, including Skanska, Balfour Beatty, and Ryan Companies. The platform has been recognized with several industry awards, including Constructech's Top Products award in 2019.

    Funding[edit]

    In 2016, Bridgit raised $2.2 million in seed funding[7][8] led by Hyde Park Venture Partners and BDC Capital. In 2019, the company raised $6.2 million in a funding round led by U.S. venture capital firm Brick & Mortar Ventures, with participation from Autodesk and StandUp Ventures.[9][10]

    In 2021, Bridgit raised $24 million in a Series B funding round led by CIBC Innovation Banking, with participation from new and existing investors including BDC Capital, Salesforce Ventures, Sands Capital, and StandUp Ventures.[11][12]
