Burja is a small village of 320 hectares in Alwar Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Burja depends on ALWAR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Burja is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Burja's pin code is 301001[4], and village code is 00854600. The area of Burja is segregated as 235 hectares irrigated area, 37 hectares unirrigated, the 10 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 38 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Burja has One post office (Burja B.O) and Fifty Nine public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Burja has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Burja is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3536 and has total administration over 614 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Burja has 522 children, 294 boys and 228 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 807 (22.82%) males constitute 449 (12.70%) of the population and females 358 (10.12%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 39 (1.10%) males constitute 21 (0.59%) of the population and females 18 (0.51%).

The workforce is 905 male, 188 female with 739 (67.61%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 677 males and 62 females. 120 males and 8 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 58 male and 8 female agricultural labor. 354 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Alwar to sell carpet and make their living.
